
Marcus Elam Corporation unified data platform releases new version, accessing the group’s fifth category business data
The new version completes the access to medical business data, enabling the group's unified data center to cover five types of businesses: aviation, railway, urban rail, industry and medical, and supports cross-sector analysis under a hierarchical authorization framework.

Marcus Elam Corporation (MEC) today released a new version of the group’s unified data platform. This update has completed the access to Yellow Medical business data. So far, the group's unified data center has covered five types of businesses: aviation, railway, urban rail, industrial manufacturing and medical health.
The unified data platform is the infrastructure built by the group in 2020. Its design goal is not to store all data centrally, but to establish common definitions, calibers and access rules for data scattered among member companies. MEC emphasized in the technical description that the value of the platform lies in "the same indicator has the same meaning in the five types of businesses" rather than in the physical concentration of data.
The access threshold for medical data is higher
Compared with the first four types of businesses, access to medical data faces stricter constraints. The sensitivity of patient health data dictates that it cannot adopt the same access model as operational data. To this end, the new version introduces an independent authorization layer: fields involving patients' personal information are irreversibly de-identified before entering the analysis environment, and any cross-member enterprise queries need to be independently approved and audit records retained.

The first scenarios analyzed across sectors
MEC also announced the first batch of cross-sector analysis scenarios launched after the new version goes online. One of them is to align the passenger flow data of Tsing Shing Metro with the outpatient and emergency volume data of Yellow Medical in the spatial and temporal dimensions to evaluate the correlation between urban travel and medical needs during public health events; the other is to associate the key process data of Tsing Shing Industry with the vehicle failure records of Yellow National Railway to trace the actual service performance of a specific batch of components.
MEC stated that the above scenarios all operate within a de-identification and hierarchical authorization framework, and the analysis results do not contain any information that can be traced back to individuals.
